Northern Premier League First Division South

The Northern Premier League First Division North is the 8th tier in the English football league pyramid. It is a fourth division of the National League and promoted teams go into the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

17 teams play in the league from the North of England. The team that finishes top of the league at the end of the season is promoted to the Northern Premier League Premier Division. 2nd to 5th position clubs play in a play off, with 2nd playing 5th and 3rd playing 4th in a two legged semi final round. The winner of each semi final goes onto a final, with the winner of that game promoted to Northern Premier League Premier Division.

The teams which finish in the bottom two positions in the league are relegated to a regional division.
