The MyFootballClub Forum Team consists of members who have been picked by the MyFC Web Team to oversee and maintain the official MyFootballClub forum.

[edit] Role

The Forum Team has the ability to lock, move, and delete threads on the MyFC official forum, as well as suspend members from posting comments to the forum, in accordance with the Forum Rules. They cannot, however, expel members from the MyFC Society or affect the voting rights of members. Further, it is the team's role to keep that forum neat and tidy and act as an efficient conduit of information between the Society Board, the Operator and the larger MyFC community.

In addition to the Forum Rules, the Forum Team also has a set of Forum Guidelines which outline the general best practice for forum discussions and Forum Team conduct.

Members of the Forum Team often try to help members understand how the forum works and to explain some of the misconstrued portions of the MyFC governing documents - the Rules and the Operator Agreement. Due to this secondary role as arbiters of MyFC guidelines, some people believe that members of the Forum Team should be elected or subject to additional scrutiny, as is described more fully below.

Members of the Forum Team are unpaid volunteers, appointed but not employed by the Operator.

A little too old and carrying a little bit too much around the middle to kick a ball these days. His claim to fame was always being the last one picked when the school kids were playing football at the local park (and as a result always having to play in goals). Found his calling as a coach in later years - particularly in football and basketball. Was actively involved for a period with a National League basketball club in Ireland. These days he coaches school teams and spends far too much time on the internet posting long-winded forum comments where ever he can get people to read them (at least the first couple of times).

[edit] Friejose

Friejose's real name is Josh, and he lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. He found out about MyFC from an article in the Economist, and then paid up the very first day, even though dirty foreigners weren't supposed to. Friejose was last seen playing football as a sweeper for the Hornets of Hingham Youth Soccer in his hometown. He is best remembered for a bone-shaking tackle on the striker of the best club in the league (who went on to play Division 1 college soccer), which was, naturally, just outside of the box. He now enjoys watching football with a Guinness in hand at either P.J. Ryan's in Somerville or the Phoenix Landing in Cambridge.

He was quoted in a Portfolio magazine piece about MyFC, and this makes him inordinately proud:

For some, like shareholder Josh Friedman, a lawyer from Cambridge, Massachusetts, My Football Club is simply about being part of a great soccer tradition. After hearing about the site, Friedman registered and began messaging British members. “We’re passionate about sports,” he says of Americans, “but for them, it was different. It was life or death. It was intoxicating.”

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you. I been sayin' that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfucker before you popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin', Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be a shepherd.

Just glancing at this will make your IQ drop fifty points

Spiritual Guru to the crowned heads of Europe, 12th Dan Master of Dimac, swordsman, spy, mountaineer, Shakespearean actor-manager, lone yachtsman, sexual athelete, best dressed man 2004 (North West Regional Division) and part-time topless go-go dancer.

Mark's hobbies include reading, football, communicating with the dead and lying about his achievements. He is neither as tall as he would like nor as witty as he thinks he is.

Mark is left-handed and has been advised to 'seek therapy'.

It has been brought to my attention that many people view my posts as pointless. Pointless?! I think you must have been blinded into stupidity by the overwhelming mental strain it took to comprehend my intellectual prowess. I think the more appropriate phrase is "my entries are an important philsophical treatise on the human condition."

[edit] StaffordRangers4Life

StaffordRangers4Life's real name is Dave Parton. He is in no way related to Dolly, nor is he large chested (he has considered plastic surgery to achieve this, but then deduced he would never get any work done!).

Dave was born on the 21st April 1977, having the great honour of sharing his birthday with Iggy Pop and The Queen.

As he was a very bad person in a past life, he was born and raised in Stafford, forcing him to embrace his local team who he has faithfully but painfully followed since the age of 9. No such luxury of being born within 5 miles of at least a league side.

Dave's interests include music, stand up comedy and video gaming and his claims to fame include running the London Marathon with Gordon Ramsay (well, not with him, more behind and to the side...for about a mile....before he left me for dead!) and meeting Lee Evans.

[edit] Criticism

Some members have critised the way the Forum Team has been selected, arguing that it is not an inclusive enough process. On the MyFC forum, some members have stated that they would prefer it if the forum team was democratically elected by the members of the Society.1 Conversely, as the Forum Team are not officers or Board members of the Society, but rather volunteers working with the Operator, the current members of the team as well as some other members have insisted that it appropriate that the team be fully appointed by the Web Team.
