Conference South

The Conference South is the 6th tier in the English football league pyramid. It is the second division of the National League and runs alongside the Conference North. Promoted teams go into the Conference National.
22 teams from the South of England play in the league. The team that finishes top of the league at the end of the season is promoted to the Conference National. 2nd to 5th position clubs play in a play off, with 2nd playing 5th and 3rd playing 4th in a two legged semi final round. The winner of each semi final goes onto a final, with the winner of that game promoted to Conference National.
The teams which finish in the bottom three positions in the league are relegated to either the Isthmian League Premier Division or the Southern Football League Premier Division.
